How It All Began
Megan and Quentin’s love journey began when they met at Richland Community College in a Computer Programming class and became fast friends. Their love was built from scratch as two young adults, fresh out of high school, enjoying college life, having a good time, while enjoying each other’s company. Their friendship blossomed into something beautiful.
The Surprise Engagement
The couple got engaged on May 1, 2020, and it was a total surprise to Megan. Quentin cooked her a lovely pasta alfredo dinner for her birthday and later that evening took her to his aunt’s house for dessert. His aunt who was in on the surprise had decorated the house with Megan’s favorite color “purple”.
There was candlelight lining the walkway leading to the house and purple rose petals covering the floor as they walked in. The dining area was also decorated with beautiful purple, gold, and white place settings. The two ate strawberry cheesecake for dessert while enjoying Megan’s favorite wine while old school slow jams played softly in the background. After dessert, Quentin professed his love for Megan and told her he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her as he got down on bended knee and popped the question.
The Wedding Day
All the planning and logistics that culminated on the wedding day was a stress free and enjoyable experience. The couple enjoyed their entire experience with Sydnee Events and the fantastic team of wedding vendors.
On the wedding day, preparations for the bride and bridesmaids began with a glam session with Monai Artistry MUA for the bridesmaids and Desiree Phillips MUA for the bride in the hotel suite at The Virgin Hotel Dallas where they enjoyed light bites, champagne, and a photo session with Lavishly Lux Studio. The groom and groomsmen had a light breakfast, enjoyed cocktails and a photo session at the bar of The Commons Club.
Early arrival guests were greeted by the bar staff of Kitchen Kandy with “All Dolled Up”, one of three signature cocktails before the ceremony began. After the wedding ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails, individual hors d’oeuvres boxes, oversized games and the photo bus on the patio while listening to a party mix of music played by DJ Kuncept.
Guests were served a plated dinner which was a perfect pairing of both African and American cuisine prepared Chef Ola of O’s Kitchen. After dinner guests enjoyed both traditional and African customs to include two wardrobe changes, money sprays, two additional signature cocktails “Gentlemanly Behavior” and “The Tanner Experience” and a late-night snack of Nigerian meat pies and liquid nitrogen ice cream from Yelibelly Chocolates.
Life Plans After
The couple plans to travel the world and invest in buying a home. They’re also looking forward to having children and growing old together. Their career goals are to eventually become entrepreneurs.
