Talk about a celebration that had the guests on their feet the entire time! Our Real Wedding Feature, Session Party of Two.
The Sessions hosted such a fun and engaging event that had their guests dancing, laughing and enjoying every single moment of their beautiful and fun wedding day.
It didn’t matter that the rainy weather changed their plans to have an outdoor ceremony on the lush and sprawling lawn of Rockwall Manor at the Springs Event Venue. The celebration was moved indoors and their semi-formal wedding was an epic success.

Marrying my best friend
Sapphire and Donavon met in 2007 in college. Sapphire, moved from Massachusetts to attend college her freshman year and met Donavon who was a Sophomore. After exchanging phone numbers, they learned that they only lived 15 minutes from each other.
The two were both weathering a few individual life challenges prior to meeting each other. They bonded naturally because they were both at a period in their lives were they where at very low points and through friendship their love grew stronger.
Our Unconventional Proposal
Donavon proposed multiple times in his own special way. During a get-away vacation to Florida, Donavon proposed to Sapphire at the beach in a non-truadional way to which she replied “of course” in her typical “sassy” way.
At their next destination that day, Donavon pulled out the ring and proposed again in a non-traditional way. This time it brought tears to Sapphire’s eyes. Finally, later that evening, Donavon actually did the traditional thing and got down on one knee and she said “yes”.
The Wedding Day
The wedding theme was country meets city love and was weaved throughout the ceremony and reception. The color palette was steel blue, white and pops of yellow with silver decor elements which was a perfect representaton of their personal style.
The couple choose to do first touch photos prior to the start of the ceremony so that they could spend more time with their wedding guests. They also included their “baby girl” Maddison in the moment.
Our Planner did a fantastic job keeping a rustic feel while bringing in elegant and trendy styles. The decor was everything I imagined, and the color scheme came together flawlessly. My cake also played well into the design, which I felt was unique and one you don’t see very often ~ Sapphire ~
The rain didn’t stop a thing that day! The couple wasn’t happy about Mother Nature showering down rain on their special day and averting their outdoor ceremony plans but were overjoyed with how beautiful everything turned out and they relished in all the compliments they received from their guests.
The most memorable moments for Sapphire was her walk down the aisle in which she focused only on Donavan as if no one else was in the room and dancing with all of her bridesmaids. The most memorable moments for Donavon were reading their vows and their first dance.
I’m not much of a dancer, I thought our first dance was atrocious, but at least we looked good ~ Donavon~
Our Life Plans
Sapphire and Donavon honeymooned in Jamaica and and reside in Forney, TX. They are looking forward to learning more about what makes each other happy, achieving goals together and making memories of a lifetime.
Some advice that they would like to give other couples planning their wedding day is …..
Be in the moment and enjoy every moment because the day goes by so fast ~ Sapphire & Donavon ~
