Your Day and Beyond

Beauty is skin deep, or in this case beauty comes from the inside out. My plant based lifestyle has led me on a journey to also incorporate more natural products into my skincare routine. When I couldn’t find store brought products that were all natural, I created my own.

3 Beauty Masks You Can Eat

Brighten, Exfoliate and Moisturize

If you deal with hyperpigmentation or dryness then you’re going to love the avocado and lemon mask. The blueberry and yogurt mask is great for toning your skin and the milk and oatmeal mask is rich in vitamins A, D and E that you can use to exfoliate your face and hands.

Here are 3 beauty masks you can eat that are quick and easy to make. My “inside out” recipes are wholesome for your body and great for your skin.

Avocado and Lemon Mask

Mash 1 ripe avocado with the juice of 1 lemon and apply to your fresh washed face and neck. Let the mask sit for 10 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water and pat to dry. Viola, you just gave your skin a boost of antioxidants that will brighten and moisturize.

Milk and Oatmeal Mask

You need 3 tablespoons of milk, 3 tablespoons of honey and 1 tablespoon of raw oatmeal. Mix together to form a paste, apply to your freshly washed face and neck by massaging gently. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry. If applying to the hands, cover with a plastic bag and let it sit for 3 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry. You just infused your skin with vitamins A, D and E.

Blueberry Yogurt Mask

Mix 1/2 cup of steamed and crushed blueberries with 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt and blend together. Refrigerate to set the mask to a thick consistency and apply to your face and neck. Let it sit for 20 minutes, wash off with lukewarm water and pat dry. *Toss the remaining.
