A chance meeting turns into a lifetime commitment!
Meet Megan and Quentin a fun loving couple who fit together like a “hand in a glove”. They met in a computer programming class at Richland Community College right out of high school and became fast friends. The two of them built a strong friendship where they got to know each other on a platonic level before anything romantic blossomed between them. When a chance meeting turns into a lifetime commitment, you know God is up to something. Having met each other at 18 years old and taking time to develop and grow their friendship before they became romantically involved is what they credit as one of the things that makes their relationship special.
Fast forward to May 1, 2020, in their hometown of Dallas, TX, where they got engaged to be married after 13 years of friendship that grew into a steady and secure love. The relaxed and unpretentious easiness of their relationship is evident when you meet them. You can tell instantly that they share a bond that is built on good old fashioned love and trust that’s mixed with a lot fun.
An Unassuming Surprise Proposal Was In The Works…
Their engagement story was one that is sweet and unassuming and planned to perfection by Quentin with a little help from his Aunt. Quentin chose to propose on Megan’s birthday. He made her a lovely dinner at her apartment, no surprise there right? Quentin’s aunt invited them to her house for dessert which didn’t seem out of the ordinary either. When Megan walked in and saw rose petals in her favorite color purple and candles lining the floor, her suspicions weren’t aroused at all. She wasn’t even the least bit tipped off as she entered the kitchen and saw the beautiful place settings with her favorite dessert and favorite wine. Megan was non the wiser even as she heard old school jams playing in the background. She was just so happy with all the effort Quentin put into making her birthday special. It wasn’t until Quentin started professing to her how much he loved her and how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her while down on one knee that Megan realized what was happening. and of course she said “yes”!
Making plans for a beautiful future together
Megan and Quentin’s love is that old fashioned kind of love, the stuff that solid marriages are built on. They’ve taken the time in their relationship to grow to know each other and talk about what they want their lives as husband and wife to look like before they’ve actually walked down the aisle.
Traveling together is on the top of their priority list. They hadn’t had the opportunity to travel while they were dating because the timing never seemed to be right but they plan to enjoy traveling together once things get back to normal in our world. They’re also saving for their first home and are very excited about the prospect of becoming first time homeowners and purchasing their dream home in the very near future. Having children is also in their plans. They both love children and definitely see children in their future as well as embarking upon their entrepreneurial careers.
For now, the two are looking forward to their upcoming spring wedding, scheduled for May 15, 2021. They plan on hosting 275 guests with a mixed culture of American and Nigerian at The Empire Room in Dallas, TX. Their color palette will be various shades of purple and their wedding party will consist of 9 of their close family and friends standing in support and witness to their love. The couple promises to keep their guests thoroughly entertained all evening long with the hottest Naija Beats, 3 delicious dinner options and plenty of cocktails and many elements of surprise throughout the evening.
