Hello Friends,
I’m back with my final blog within the finances, faith, and fidelity series. It’s been a pleasure to share on an amazing platform such as Sydnee Event Productions blog “Your Day and Beyond”!
Ladies, please remember that growing with your spouse can sometimes be a daunting task. Within marriage our beloved mates can say or do things that cause us to second guess their love for us.
I know, I’ve been there. When I’ve experienced marriage problems I’ve used a force much greater than my husband and I to “fix us.”
A force that allows me to feel at peace.
A force that allows me to state my needs, concerns and problems without feeling judged.
A force that allows me to feel comforted that my marriage will be okay.
A force that can give my marriage a greater security than I could ever imagine.
Prayer is my guiding force reflective of my faith. A long time ago I accepted that I’m imperfect, and can’t have solutions to issues out of my control. I had to trust God’s timing as he worked through my husband and I within our marriage. So, I had to find solace somewhere, and that place has been in the act of prayer.
Prayer allows me to release my worries, so I don’t become emotionally consumed with thoughts that drive me crazy. Using a 3-step combo for marital peace has been the most powerful tool to transform my husband and I’s relationship to deeper levels of intimacy—well beyond what I could have done. Of course I discuss this process more explicitly in my book, Miss to Mrs.: How Phenomenal Women Can Enjoy a Happy Marriage (click here to learn more: www.misstomrsbook.com), but what I’m describing is the powerful impact of prayer, meditation, and affirmations within a marriage.
Prayer is what I do to talk with God and ask for her grace and mercy, and share my struggles from my heart. Affirmations are self-soothing statements I use to remain focused and energized to face another day while mediation is used for reflections to hear God’s word.
